Unlocking Hope, One Property at a Time
Real estate has always been about more than buying and selling properties — it’s about building communities and making a meaningful impact. That’s why I launched Keys 4 Kindness, my ongoing commitment to turning every transaction into an opportunity to give back to the community I’m so proud to call home. For each property I sell, I donate 10% of my net wages to one of four incredible local charities on a rotating basis. These organizations play a vital role in strengthening our corner of New Brunswick, and I’m honoured to support their work.
This Year’s Featured Charities
Each year, I rotate the four featured charities to broaden the reach of Keys 4 Kindness across our community. Here are the organizations I’m proud to support this year:
Cambridge Narrows Community Library
The Cambridge Narrows Community Library is a beloved community hub serving the rural heart of Central New Brunswick. Libraries are far more than books — they’re spaces for learning, connection, and belonging. Supporting access to knowledge and literacy in rural communities is something I feel strongly about, and this little library punches well above its weight.
Lily’s Place Animal Sanctuary
Lily’s Place rescues and cares for farmed animals in need, giving them a second chance at life. This one is close to home — my spouse and I co-founded Lily’s Place, and I serve as board president while also volunteering in day-to-day operations. It’s a labour of love, built on the belief that compassion for the most vulnerable — human or animal — is the foundation of a stronger community.
Liberty Lane
Liberty Lane offers a safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence, providing not just shelter but education, advocacy, and the tools to rebuild lives with safety and independence. This cause is personal to me — when I was younger, a close relative fled her home in the middle of the night with nothing but her children and their dog. I’m so grateful she had somewhere safe to go. Liberty Lane is that place for so many others.
Oromocto Food Bank
Food insecurity is a reality for too many families in our region, and the Oromocto Food Bank works tirelessly to make sure no one in our community goes hungry. Their dedication to neighbours in need is quiet, consistent, and absolutely essential — exactly the kind of work that deserves a spotlight.
Looking Back: Year One
In the first year of Keys 4 Kindness, I donated a total of $5,401.20 to four local charities: The Shelters-Fredericton, Special Olympics New Brunswick, Liberty Lane, and Lily’s Place Animal Sanctuary. I’m grateful to every client who trusted me with their real estate needs — you made that possible.
Supporting the IWK Health Centre
Alongside Keys 4 Kindness, I also make a donation to the IWK Health Centre through the Miracle Home Program with every transaction I complete. This one is personal in a different way. I had open-heart surgery at age 3, and the care I received as a child shaped who I am today. I think about that little kid — and all the kids like him — and I feel a deep sense of responsibility to give back to the institution that makes that care possible. The IWK does extraordinary work for children and families across the Maritimes, and I’m proud to support them with every deal I close.
Why I Created Keys 4 Kindness
I recognize that not everyone starts from the same place in life. We all face different challenges and are presented with different opportunities. I know I’ve been given opportunities that others haven’t, just as others have had advantages I haven’t. But one thing I firmly believe is that real fulfillment doesn’t come from accumulating more things — it comes from community, connection, and lifting others up however we can. Helping and advocating for the most vulnerable in our society isn’t just an act of charity; it’s a responsibility and a key part of building a stronger, more compassionate community.
I created Keys 4 Kindness as a way to channel meaningful financial support to organizations doing essential, life-changing work — using my real estate business as the engine to make it happen. As one of my favourite quotes says: “What we do for ourselves passes with us, but what we do for others lives on and becomes our legacy.” My hope is that Keys 4 Kindness helps break cycles of hardship, builds stronger community connections, and makes New Brunswick a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
